What does “TotalRequests Limit Exceeded” error mean in Salesforce Developer Console?

Hello, Salesforce Developers today I will be explaining to you what does TotalRequests Limit Exceeded mean which you see while opening the Salesforce Developer Console.

Let's first look at the problem itself. While opening the developer console sometime I get a TotalRequests Limit Exceeded Error. For more details, you can have a look at the screenshot below.

If you also get the above error while opening or refreshing the developer console then it means that you have exceeded your Salesforce API request limit for 24 hours. So now the question arises how to check API usage?

So here are the steps to check API Usage.

  1. Go to the Setup page.

  2. Search for System Overview.

  3. Your API usage will be shown in the top right.

Check the below image for reference.

If you also have exceeded your daily limit just wait for it to reset.

Once it resets you will be able to open the developer console.

You can also ask Salesforce support to increase your API Limit from here.

I was looking to get into technical writing so if you want me to write an article then please connect with me on my Twitter here.
